Teacher Reviews

“I use this program with 7th grade students and it works beautifully. My students love that MoneyTime feels like a game. They realize that they are learning about relevant and meaningful concepts but this is happening in a funny and entertaining way. Many even want to continue the modules at home even though it is not a homework assignment and show their parents what they are working on in class.”

- Tara Wachter, Teacher, Herricks Middle School, New York, USA

“This program was great for my special education students. It was easy and fun for them to use and the navigation of the course was straight forward which I liked.  My student was able to use this independently which for me was helpful as I have several students at various levels. I would give it a 10 and I think my students would agree.  We did take out most of the at home pieces but they were very helpful as well and I may include them next year.  I would recommend this to other teachers as it gives a real life example of students' financial goals.”

- Lisa Smith, Middle School/High School Special Education Teacher, Options Virtual Charter School, Wisconsin, USA

“MoneyTime is super easy to use. It is very kid friendly. It was an easy process getting them enrolled as well. The kids loved that it gave them an idea on how and where they can make money as a child. They also liked being able to make investments and donate to charities. The topics are relatable to their age and gets their mind going on achievable things that they can accomplish and pursue while still being a child.

My highlights were seeing the kids get excited when I would walk into their class and it was MoneyTime. The kids are really intrigued and they enjoy the program. I like that they find the program enjoyable and fun at the same time.”

“I used this course with my 7th and 8th grade students.  I realize that students are unaware of how when you make money how it is reduced by taxes and everyday expenses.  This program had manageable modules for my students to complete and really covered diverse topics.  I promoted this course to students by saying to them that they will be working in a couple of years and knowing how to handle their money is important so they are not surprised at how they need to budget.  Student's had great questions and responded well to the program. I felt my students gained some insight and knowledge on when they begin earning money and what some of the realities are like taxes, mortgages, saving, etc.”

“I’m excited to use money-time in my class again this year. It is a valuable resource for me and my students.”

- Heather Bell, Teacher, Barber Middle School, Georgia, USA

“I have really appreciated MoneyTime. I was needing a hands-off activity/project for students to participate in for the end of the year that would allow me to still focus on our final units of Common Core content. MoneyTime has fit this perfectly. The grade 6s who have had a chance to use the program the most are obsessed with it. [I have been sitting in a desk chair and participating with them as a student so I can experience it too.] The students are having a great time comparing who has the most money, what they have invested in as far as savings account vs CDs or education, and comparing who spends way too much on the avatar instead of saving, etc. It's been super fun. I'd say my most "challenging" student this year is the most engaged, and he hasn't liked ANYTHING this year.”

- Katelynn Russell, Nakornpayap International School, Chiang Mai, Thailand

“I have been able to work through MoneyTime with three different groups of students. Each group has quickly caught onto the program and moved through the modules with relative ease. Students enjoy the fun challenges that each module brings as well as the competitive nature of moving up the leaderboard. My students really seem to be grasping the concepts that MoneyTime covers and often make connections to their own lives. I appreciate the flexibility of how students are able to receive direct instruction as well as work at their own pace. I highly recommend MoneyTime to other schools looking to provide a comprehensive financial learning program to their students.”

- Jeffrey Benjamin, Teacher, Santiam Junior/ Senior High School, Oregon, USA

“My year 9 and 10 students have significant learning disabilities, requiring many adjustments to their learning. Discovering MoneyTime has been incredible for teaching them financial literacy and numeracy. They have enjoyed working through the program each week. The program is engaging and motivates them to see who can save and earn the most. Students need each module read to them and worked at a slower pace but it is great for reinforcing their learning. Links to curriculum and further teaching ideas are fabulous too! I can see this being used by my students in Inclusive Education for many years.”

- Leonie Ripper, Inclusive Education Teacher, St Francis Xavier College, Australian Capital Territory, Australia

“MoneyTime is so impressive! Our district vetting process was equally impressed. Many of the students stop me in the halls to report out. SO FUN!”
